  1. Bahamas under tropical storm warning, coastal Central Florida under Tropical Storm Watch


Just 2 weeks have past since Hurricane Dorian tragically destroyed the Bahamas.
Despite all that, the island is now having tropical depression warnings .
Forecasters are expecting a tropical storm in the Bahamas and also in Central Florida.
There is an 80-90 percent chance that this tropical depression could become a tropical storm.


Problem: The Bahamas are still suffering from opportunities Hurricane Dorian caused.
With this upcoming tropical storm, their current situation can get worse.
Floridians may also face a tropical storm, caution is advised.

  1. Delray police ID boy, 9, Killed by construction vehicle


Jahlani Ware , a 9 year old boy, was riding his bicycle eastbound on first street when he
collided with a front end loader that was trying to exit a parking lot near seventh avenue
in Delray Beach, Florida. The loader was working on a $300 million downtown project.
Authorities identified the firm that is behind the construction as Lantana-based Johnson-Davis.
Police say that the event took place away from where the construction was being held.


Problem: A 9 year old kid was killed when he collided with a loader when he was riding with
his bike. The accident occured when the loader was trying to get out of a parking lot.

  1. Miami-Dade Public Schools enrollment failing


Enrollment in Miami dade Public schools has suffered decreases in enrollment in the last
five years. From 355,666 in 2016 to 347,108 this year. Enrollment declines each year.
In comparison with August 2015 , there is an 8.3% decline for the North Region of the county.
There are various reasons for this enrollment decline, according to John Schuster.
The current spokesman for the school district. Tighter immigration standards are one of the
main causes of why this enrollment is declining. Economic circumstances are also causing
birth rates to decline.


Problem: Each year, enrollment in Miami Dade public school district is declining.
is due to immigration problems and economic circumstances that are causing birth rates to
decrease.

  1. Photos Show Mold, Mildew Infecting Miami’s Main Federal Prison


Inmates and guards inside the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami have been complaining for
years that the facility is covered with mold . According to them , this is causing health related
problems to both guards and prisoners. According to the pictures that the NY Times have revealed
from their current investigation; even the health-services ward appears to have mold. The main
health related issues are upper respiratory illnesses from mold exposure. Many employees are
calling sick because of health related issues from the mold exposure. This is an issue that has been
exposed to the public for years and nothing has changed.


Problem: A Federal Correctional Institution in Miami has mold in their facilities. This mold is causing
both inmates and guards to get respiratory related issues, Guards are missing work because they are
not feeling well because of the exposure from the mold. Both guards and inmates from the
correctional have complained from this mold exposure for years and nothing has changed.

  1. Hialeah Cop Accused of Sexually Abusing Teen Finally Taken Off Street Duty


In 2015, Hialeah Police Department suspended Sgt. Jesus Menocal Jr. and removed him from street
patrols because he was accused of kidnapping a girl,driving her to the place where he works, and
forcing her to strip while he pleasured while watching her. In turned out that the department lied when
they told the public that they removed officer menocal from the streets. Her accuser, Maley Dacosta,
filed a lawsuit against Menocal and the CIty of Hialeah last June. Officer Menocal now has desk duty
within the department. The department has refused to speak to the public regarding this issue. Menocal
was previously the chief of the Sweetwater Police Department


Problem: In 2015, a teenager was sexually abused by an officer when he was on duty.
The Hialeah Police Department told the public that officer Menocal was removed from street duty.
Afters 4 years, the truth emerged and the public discovered that the department was lying about
Menocal’s removal. This past June, Maley Dacosta, filed a lawsuit against Menocal and the City of
Hialeah for the damage he caused to her. The resolution for this case is yet to take place.
