I’m planning on creating an internet service company that enables customers to have a cheap internet connection at home. My perfect prototypical customer is a college student who studies and also has a job. This type of college students is typically independent. Most of them do not receive any help from their parents whatsoever. Because they have to pay for everything by themselves, money is a huge factor aside from everything. I think that my prototypical customer is a sports fan and has a taste for music. I think this because most college students are in sports. It’s a way of entertainment for all of us. My prototypical customer will also have a taste for music because it is another way of entertainment. If someone works and studies at the same type, watching sports and listening to music are two of the most common ways to relax when not doing those activities. When my customer picks a tv show, he or she will probably watch a comedy show since it can be relaxing sometimes. My prototypical customer will probably own a ford focus or a honda civic. Both cars are very cheap and are also very fuel-efficient. Getting one of those cars and be relatively easy. My customers will probably probably be single because having children can be very expensive. He or she will have liberal political views since college students tend to believe that everyone is equal. My typical customer will be around 20-22 years old. He or she will probably feel old because they have to pay for everything for themselves now. 

The things I have in common with my avatar is my passion for sports, my political views, my taste for music and age. I think I have a lot of things in common with my avatar because I’m a typical college student. I’m always trying to save some money and drink a lot of coffee. I also don’t think there is a coincidence when I decided to choose my target segment. When I was choosing which segment to target I just thought about people that only care about saving up some money. Of course, my first thoughts were college students because I always try to save up money.

Opportunity My venture concept was brought into my mind by the awful cable companies we have in Gainesville. Cox is the main telecommunications company we have in town. Despite having little competition, they still have a lot of ways to improve. The internet service they provided is not good, customer service is bad and above all, it is really expensive. They have plans of up to $40 per month for a 30 MB speed. Because of my negative experiences with cable companies, I realized that there may be an opportunity in the Gainesville area.
